How are you celebrating the 4th of July? Nail art enthusiasts like me show our American pride the best way we know how! I got the inspiration for my nails from a few of these lovely designs below:
I don’t think I need to remind anyone that it’s been hot as blazes in NYC this week, so as summer is clearly upon us I thought now might be a good time to try out this tangerine color I received as a Klout perk a few weeks ago- Fear or Desire. I paired it with a floral nail bling design from Sephora and it came out even cuter than I expected!
I’ve realized I’m kind of a last-minute sort of person when it comes to my nails. I decide which color to change them to about 20 min before I need to leave the house, and I haven’t gotten dressed yet. As such I’ve been getting a lot of use from the (so-called) quick dry top coats, which sometimes aren’t as quick as we’d like them to be. So this week I’m sharing my top three picks for the best “quick dry” top coats!
#3: Essie Good to Go- As big of an Essie fan as I am, I have to put their quick dry top coat in last place on this one. It’s not awful, I definitely thought it would dry quicker than it did, but I’d use it again if I’m in a jam.
I’m really more of an Essie girl at heart but sometimes I find these super-cute OPI colors and I just can’t help myself! As is the case with this blue-green colors from the Nicki Minaj x OPI Collection called ‘Fly“. So as Fly is one of my favorite songs from her (I feel like it’s one of the realest songs on that album) I made no hesitation to ‘buy it now’ on Ebay and try it out real quick. With the exception of the ‘Pink Friday’ (a pastel pink hue) the collection is a range of bold and bright colors, which is what I tend to gravitate towards as we go into spring. The ‘Fly’ color is a little tropical, which is a good pick-me-up from this disrespectfully windy and cold weather we’ve been experiencing:
Something’s buzzing in the beauty world, or should we say slithering. The manicure technique that takes at least 2 1/2 hours and costs about $150-$300, has one main ingredient…molted snakeskin. Cutting each piece of skin custom to your nails gives it a textured look, a trend that’s been growing since the textured leggings and tights started popping up a few years ago.
