So I haven’t written a blog post in way too long, but I figured Star Wars Day (and my birthday) are perfect enough reasons to get back over here. I’ve been stepping up my nail art game each year for my birthday…and by ‘stepping up’ I mean paying someone more talented to do it for me…and i am officially obsessed with this year’s Star Wars nail art! I gave artist Fleury Rose of Tomahawk Salon creative reign over my nail art, so long as it included Boba Fett and R2D2 and she rocked it! Continue reading
If you’ve been looking for the perfect 4th of July nail art to do for the weekend…join the club! Of course I have a few favorites (found on Pinterest of course), but choosing one is proving a bit difficult. And choosing one that I can feasibly do is even harder! Obviously the Captain America-inspired manis made the top of the list!
Since I can’t decide on a design, I’m leaving it all up to you. Enter below for a chance to win this Julep Summer Goody Box, including their Independence Day-inspired color, America! And since it won’t be the 4th of July forever, there’s a few other goodies to enjoy as well: included in the box is Natasha and Abbie, two vibrant tones that are perfect for summer and a Pomegranate Body Creme! Good luck!!
The kiddies may be out for the summer but Ciate’s new Chalkboard Manicure isn’t done with the school year. The matte effect may not be new, and clearly not going anywhere, but the addition of the mini-chalk pens brings it right back to the forefront! Created by Ciaté’s Founder and Creative Director, Charlotte Knight, the new collection was made to bring out our inner kid – and what better time for it than over the summer? (Sleepaway camp anyone!?)
So Julep (did I mention I’m a Julep Maven!?) has dubbed 2013 the year of the double accent nail, and I completely agree!
*Sidenote: I’m kinda hype I’ve already been doing double accent nails for a while now…ahead of the trends aoowww!!*
But anyway, my auntie Indi let me do her nails last week so obviously I insisted on the double accent nails for her mani! She insisted I keep it subtle though so we just did a little glitter on the edges.
Instagram just became my new best friend! Let me explain: just like writer’s get writer’s block I imagine artists hit the same wall when they’re in need of creative inspiration. And while I’m no expert yet I do consider myself a bit of an artiste when it comes to nail art. Lately though I’ve been hitting that same wall (as you may have noticed from the lack of Lacquer Saturday posts) and then as if right on queue…enter Instagram, stage left!
