So I haven’t written a blog post in way too long, but I figured Star Wars Day (and my birthday) are perfect enough reasons to get back over here. I’ve been stepping up my nail art game each year for my birthday…and by ‘stepping up’ I mean paying someone more talented to do it for me…and i am officially obsessed with this year’s Star Wars nail art! I gave artist Fleury Rose of Tomahawk Salon creative reign over my nail art, so long as it included Boba Fett and R2D2 and she rocked it! Continue reading
If you’ve been looking for the perfect 4th of July nail art to do for the weekend…join the club! Of course I have a few favorites (found on Pinterest of course), but choosing one is proving a bit difficult. And choosing one that I can feasibly do is even harder! Obviously the Captain America-inspired manis made the top of the list!
Since I can’t decide on a design, I’m leaving it all up to you. Enter below for a chance to win this Julep Summer Goody Box, including their Independence Day-inspired color, America! And since it won’t be the 4th of July forever, there’s a few other goodies to enjoy as well: included in the box is Natasha and Abbie, two vibrant tones that are perfect for summer and a Pomegranate Body Creme! Good luck!!
Butter LONDON’s Global Colour Ambassador Katie Hughes said “When it comes to adding a pop of colour, there no better place than you lips or tips”…I say why not both!? The brands new Limited Edition Pop Art Trio features a trio of brights: Keks, Primrose Hill Picnic and Cheeky Chops all perfect for summer. But what’s a great nail color without the perfect lip to go with it? The market for “unconventional” lip colors continues to grow, but there are a few brands that I’m already in love with when it comes to the super-brights!
Firstly the Keks shade! The Opaque blue créme polish goes great with Ka’Oir’s Harlem Knight shade, an exclusive royal blue matte by singer Teyana Taylor. And at only $20 each, why not try one (or three)!?
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (I’ve learned with them, the tiniest bit of product goes a long way) Traffic shade is a great complement to the Cheeky Chops – love that name!
And finally the Primrose Hill Picnic matches almost perfectly to The Lip Bar’s Jasmine hue. Ya’ll know I love me some hot pink so of course I saved the best for last!
The kiddies may be out for the summer but Ciate’s new Chalkboard Manicure isn’t done with the school year. The matte effect may not be new, and clearly not going anywhere, but the addition of the mini-chalk pens brings it right back to the forefront! Created by Ciaté’s Founder and Creative Director, Charlotte Knight, the new collection was made to bring out our inner kid – and what better time for it than over the summer? (Sleepaway camp anyone!?)
As if anyone needs an extra reason to go see Disney’s Oz next season (two words: James Franco!) OPI has announced the launch of six limited edition nail lacquers and a new Liquid Sand™ shade, inspired by Oz The Great and Powerful in theaters on March 8, 2013.
“Inspired by the magic of Oz The Great and Powerful, this SoftShades collection captures the whimsy seen in the film, from glittery shades packed with white, gold and silvery iridescent confetti –Lights of Emerald City, When Monkeys Fly! and Which is Witch? – to soft neutrals in white, beige and pink –Don’t Burst My Bubble, Glints of Glinda and I Theodora You, Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director
