I’ve been way overdue for a brunch outing so I made it a priority when I made my way to BK this weekend. Kosi (check out her own blog here) suggested Peaches Brooklyn and she had me at blackened catfish. Sadly they were out of catfish when we got there, but the Peaches Shrimp Po’Boy was an amazing substitute. Ya’ll know how I feel about shrimp, but I have to be honest I tried the greens first and went IN! I even ate the cheesy grits…and I DON’T like cheese in my grits!!
Mental Note: try fresh sauteed garlic in the greens next time!
The decor and music was so cute and cozy it made me feel like I’d step outside and be on someone’s 1950’s southern porch. We spent half our time gawking over the menu and the other half trying to figure out what song that was playing so we can download it (yep my iphone has an app for that).
I think the visit might’ve spurred my grandmother to look into starting her own restaurant. I told her as long there’s an apartment for me above it I’d be happy to bartend fridays and saturdays!
